SOLD  Executed in the correct colors (green and gold), here are the horses of the "Rohirrim" of Lord of the Rings fame. The wood is gorgeous clear-grained Curly Koa....with its brassy color and fine chatoyance it is a great canvas for the green-dyed horses. The grain was painstakingly filled before hand-carving the horses, and the visual effect is stunning. It's impossible to capture the color and grain shift with a still camera. A deep, hand-rubbed finish ensures that these guys aren't just for show....they're just as at home in EDC as they are at your next barbeque. Forth Eorlingas!

SOLD  Bloodwood is a very dense, hard wood rightfully renowned for its chatoyance and durability (it's also danged difficult to carve!). Here is a stunningly chatoyant set of Bloodwood grips with our hand-carved Celtic Shield Knot with Sword. The different colors of red and reddish-gold "flash" with lighting angle changes. The design is "ghosted", a process we employ which uses different gloss levels to create contrast. The design isn't immediately obvious when you look directly at the grips, but any movement causes the Knot/Sword to visually "pop" off the surface. Bloodwood's legendary toughness also means that these are just as at home in EDC as they are at your next social function.

SOLD. This set of grips was cut from a fantastically figured block of Desert Ironwood burl. We chose to accent the grain pattern by adding our "organic" style stipple, which uses a dark line in the grain to set the border between smooth and stippled areas. The micro-stippled texture provides a surprisingly grippy surface, giving the shooter (i.e., you) a very sure hold. These are equally at home in EDC use or at your next barbecue-type function.

We started with a high contrast, vividly striped piece of Desert Ironwood burl and added our "organic" style stipple which lets Nature set the pattern. We choose a dark line in the grain, and use that to delineate the border between smooth and stippled areas. The result is absolutely unique...Nature guarantees it. The micro-stippling is a new touch, providing a more aggressive feel while letting the beauty of the grain strut its stuff. They're not just pretty faces, though. Given the hard-wearing nature of the species, these are just as at home in EDC use as in a display case.

"Eyes" or inclusions falling out of burl is a frequent occurence...it's just what they do. Normally, the large voids caused by this are filled with sanding dust and CA glue or with tinted epoxy. In this case, though, the voids were gradually, painstakingly filled with crushed Turquoise.and CA glue. The result is that it looks as if the wood grew around the Turquoise. We gave the wood and mineral a high polish and topped it off with a hand-rubbed tung oil finish for a little extra protection. Put these on your barbeque gun, carry in your best holster and you're gonna knock it out of the park at the next barbeque. They're not just pretty faces, though....these beauties are just as at home in everyday carry as they are at social functions.
